Toyota Fortuner

The Fortuner is a very popular sight here in the UAE, and I can see why. I bought it because I needed a proper SUV with 7 seats. It definitely feels tough and capable, especially if you take it to the desert or drive in rougher roads. The 2.7L feels okay, but the 4.0L option is a beast if you want raw power. The seating position is high, giving a strong road presence. Inside, it’s very spacious, and my family loves the comfort while traveling. Of course, fuel economy isn’t the best, but that’s expected with a big SUV.The third row is a bit tight for adults but works fine for kids. The boot has fair space when seats are folded. The A/C is excellent and reaches the back quickly.

The Toyota Fortuner has been our family’s reliable SUV for years now. The fortuner is always a reliable and trustworthy companion. The Fortner is a comfortable and spacious asset of mine perfect for trips around the city or longer drives and gives a real feel of driving. It is good for a mid-size family, which can easily fit seven people with plenty of space for bags and legroom. I like its simple and easy features, not much complicated to use and the safety features make me feel secure. It’s easy to drive and maintain, which is important for our busy life.

The Fortuner continues to be among the top choices in UAE, and there are many reasons. Toyota continues to offer the Fortuner in various configurations, good price and a lot of features. The 2.7L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces 164 HP of power and 245 Nm of torque, while the 4.0L turbocharged V6 offers 235 HP and 376 Nm of torque. Both of them are offered with 6-speed automatic and smoother operations. The Fortuner is good for city and off-road driving as well. With all-wheel-drive capability, you get great power and performance and Toyota reliability is not matched.

Lastly, the performance is just awesome backed by the proven 2.8L turbo diesel with high power and torque making it ideal for off-roading too.

After several weeks of family discussion and research, we bought the 2024 Fortuner in April this year. Being a Toyota loyal family, we already own the Corolla, and wanted a powerful SUV. After checking out several brands like Honda, Hyundai and even some German brands, we decided to give Toyota another chance. The reason being the brand’s reliability but more so with the SUV. I think it is priced well and you get both the off road and on road car for family and solo drives. We got a very good deal from our local dealer in Al Ain, and the car has been nothing but a delight to drive.

I have cruised through the most rugged terrains and challenging pathways in the Toyota Fortuner and have found it to be a serious competitor in the 4x4 wagon seven-seater category. Its off-road capabilities and robust build quality make it a great choice for adventurous journeys, handling all types of terrains effortlessly. The spacious interior can easily fit up to seven passengers. The 4x4 system offers the required traction in challenging driving scenarios. However, its on-road performance feels somewhat like a truck, impacting its comfort and agility on smoother surfaces.

For long distance travels comfort and smooth drive are my main priorities and the Toyota Fortuner exudes both these attributes in the best way. With its robust torque, excellent visibility, and comfortable seating it tackles miles effortlessly. It has a raised seating position that offers a clear view of the road ahead. The outside rearview mirrors are large and enhance visibility. When I engage the power mode it shows remarkable responsiveness. The best thing is that it is equipped with lots of equipment and features making the driving experience very enjoyable.

To me the best advantage of selecting a car like that of Toyota Fortuner was to encounter with an exquisite edition of a car that is not only glorious to look at but is within my budget. Best or most prominent aspect is this is a Lowe maintenance car. To repair or to upkeep this you won’t have to spare a fortune on this. Though when I went to purchase the model I was being told that keep the maintenance cost in limit I should go for regular one. Moreover, its trust factor is immense in market which literally compelled me to consider the vehicle.

For me the 2.7L Fortuner is a disappointment unfortunately. I bought it brand new 2024 model and was excited but now driving it, it feels as if it's body is too heavy for it and it feels an effort sometimes to move. In the roundabouts and joining a faster road you can feel it changing the gear and not picking up. You need to put in too much gas to speed up and it becomes annoying. Not sure if there is some fault or if the Toyota has got it wrong. Can't even get rid up of it now.
